To create and maintain an enthusiastic and positive interest in all related band programs.
To encourage and cultivate positive participation in band activities by all students, parents and other individuals or groups interested in developing the quality of band programs.
To maintain dignified and supportive relationships between those who are interested in developing the quality of band programs and boosting school spirit.
To engage in fund raising activities to help meet the financial needs of the band programs.

Mr. Bateman is a native of Moore County, Tennessee where he graduated High School. Mr. Bateman received his B.S. and Masters Degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. He is a member of the MENC, TEA, MTSBOA and a member of PHI MU Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America. Mr. Bateman has nineteen years experience in teaching in secondary education in Tennessee and Alabama.
Mr. Bateman is the only director The Forrest Rocket Band of Blue has had since it's onset in 1998. Since that time the band has finished in the Finals of the Division 1 State Marching Band Championship for seven consecutive years. The Band finished as State Runner-up in 2006 and Division 1 State Champion in 2007.
Mr. Bateman received the "Beyond The Call of Duty Award" from the Marshall County Teachers Association in 1999 and in 2004 he received the "Titan Teacher of The Week Award." Mr. Bateman was named "Citizen of the Year" in the Town of Chapel Hill in 2007. Also, he was named "Teacher of the Year" at Forrest in 2007.
Mr. Bateman currently resides in Chapel Hill, Tennessee with his lovely wife, Sherry.
